Hollowcore demonstrated its compatibility in the construction of C&E Flats in Saint Paul, MN. Prior to being a five-story apartment complex, the structure was a 90-year-old car garage. Project leaders were challenged with keeping the building’s historic façade intact during its transformation. Hollowcore proved an ideal solution. In addition to meeting the project’s span and load requirements, the high-performance prestressed planks could be efficiently integrated with the existing structure. More than 38,000 SF of hollowcore was manufactured and precisely cut to meet the demands of this noteworthy project.
