Produced using a low water-cement ratio, insulated sandwich walls are dense, durable, and proven to resist weathering and corrosion of embedded steel. Air-entrainment can be used to enhance the panels’ freeze/thaw durability in controlled and challenging conditions. Wall panels are also easily cleaned and can withstand harsh chemicals and steam pressure to achieve cleanliness without impacting performance.
Energy Efficiency
Each insulated wall panel contains a layer of high-rated insulation sandwiched between two layers of prestressed concrete. As a result, it provides outstanding energy efficiency, as demonstrated by their high state R-values.
Concrete’s high thermal mass has the capacity to absorb large quantities of heat, minimizing interior temperature fluctuations. During hot summer days, ISWs absorb heat, preventing it from entering the facility. Then, as the temperatures decrease at night, the concrete releases the heat into the exterior atmosphere.
