County Prestress & Precast Delivers 22 Prestressed Girders in One Day

Sep 25, 2020

The Verona Road (US 18/151) corridor posed as a hazard during periods of congestion due to its dated design, which consequently resulted in a rise of accidents. WisDOT found a solution in expanding the surrounding highways to three lanes and adding a diamond interchange at the Verona Road and Williamsburg Way intersection.

County Prestress & Precast's 45W Prestress Bridge Girders were specified for the project. The 22 girders were scheduled for a two-day delivery; however, with inclement weather approaching, project contractor Lunda Construction requested all 22 girders be delivered in one day, the next day. Dispatch Supervisors Jared Benson and Steve Rubenzer, alongside the loading and trucking team, coordinated with Lunda Construction to get the job done well and on-time.

“With great cooperation between County Prestress & Precast and Lunda Construction, the erection of 22 girders in this short time was completed both safely and efficiently, truly an impressive feat,” said Laremy Sacia of Lunda Construction.
