Grethel Palacios is a Plant Forewoman with County Prestress & Precast. She is one of the many dedicated women who play an essential role in the success of the County Materials family of companies.
Grethel has been with our company for more than three years. She shares that careers in concrete manufacturing require skills beyond physical strength.
“It’s not only about being strong, it’s about thinking and learning,” she says. “The goal is to be better every day.”
When Grethel started her career, she didn’t envision herself advancing to the role of plant forewoman. But she took advantage of County Prestress & Precast’s on-the-job training and leadership development opportunities to build her career.
She shares that while manufacturing is still perceived as a man’s job, she believes women belong and have valuable contributions to make.
“Don’t be scared because you think it’s a man’s job,” she says. “We got it.”
