County Prestress & Precast’s Hollowcore is a high-performance product that can accelerate construction timelines because of its efficient installation.
Hollowcore provides several advantages for buildings in dense urban areas. Hollowcore can support higher loads across longer spans with fewer columns, creating wider, more open interior spaces. Electrical and plumbing conduits can be routed through the hollow cores within the planks, which also reduce the weight of planks but not their strength.
County Prestress & Precast’s Hollowcore is manufactured in our PCI-Certified facilities. Offsite production means that site preparation and material production can happen at the same time, and our enhanced production capacity allows us to offer short lead times.
The planks are manufactured to specified lengths for each project, accommodating plans with unique angles and curves as well as tight construction sites. Any necessary openings in the planks can also be cut prior to delivery, providing even more time savings during installation.
Hollowcore can be installed year-round in most weather conditions and can help make up for lost time due to inclement weather or staffing issues. Installation requires a much smaller crew than alternative roof and floor systems, and can be completed in a matter of weeks, not months. For example, the erector for the Shakopee Apartments project was able to install 60,000 square feet of hollowcore in just three weeks.
County Prestress & Precast supplies hollowcore throughout the greater Midwest region, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Use our prestressed planks for your next project by contacting our Customer Service Team at (708) 562-7700.
