Heart Haven Teens Explore Careers on County Prestress Plant Tour

Jun 16, 2022

Heart Haven OutReach (H2O) transforms the lives of underserved teens through caring relationships and research-based programs that support healthy development. One of the goals at H2O is for every student to pursue an educational or vocational track for their future. Students recently toured County Prestress’ Lockport, Illinois, plant to learn about vital careers in manufacturing.

While on the tour, students saw how County Prestress’ team members work together to manufacture insulated sandwich walls, hollowcore, and prestressed parking structure components. The students learned about the many different career opportunities County Prestress offers in the concrete manufacturing industry. Careers in skilled trades offer stability, make our communities safer and stronger, and benefit local economies. County Prestress is committed to providing resources and opportunities to students through donations and plant tours.

“We really appreciate the time staff members at County Prestress took to inspire and motivate our youth by showing them possibilities for their future,” said Executive Director, Ryan Lawrence. “From starting work right out of high school to studying for different degrees in college, there were a lot of career options our students were exposed to.”

Our team of hardworking people are advancing their careers within our dynamic company and building stronger communities.
