County Prestress & Precast Backs Turningpoint to Support Abuse Survivors

Jun 2, 2022

Ending domestic and sexual violence in Wisconsin’s Pierce and St. Croix counties is the vision of Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence. Turningpoint has been an ally to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse for nearly 40 years. Founded as a crisis line and safe house, the organization has grown to offer a crisis shelter, legal advocacy, support groups, safety planning and violence prevention education.  In addition to serving women and children, Turningpoint breaks the stigma and extends its services to men. Often an underserved population, 1 in 10 men experience sexual and/or domestic abuse in their lifetime.

Turningpoint annually provides more than 4,500 nights of emergency shelter, 17,000 meals, 2,500 hours of client services to more than 600 people. The organization also educates the community about domestic and sexual violence prevention.

Through the Sonnentag Foundation, County Prestress supports dozens of charitable organizations in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
