County Prestress Helps Combat Poverty in Southern Wisconsin

Community Action, located in Beloit, WI, is a nonprofit organization that strives to prevent and reduce poverty in Rock and Walworth Counties. Through childcare, youth programs, emergency food assistance, and affordable housing resources, Community Action provides access and opportunity to community members seeking economic independence.

Each year, Community Action provides approximately 755 households emergency rental assistance and supports 110 Evansville students in a weekly food delivery program.

County Prestress, through the Sonnentag Foundation, partners with Community Action to empower people with opportunities and provide solutions to eradicate poverty. The Sonnentag Foundation supports dozens of worthy organizations and causes in four service areas, including Hunger and Homelessness Support, Military Personnel and Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Youth Mentoring and Skills Building.
