Community Action, Inc. Provides Resources for Community Members in Need

Community Action, Inc., located in Beloit, WI, provides opportunities for residents in Rock and Walworth counties to overcome poverty and other challenges. Resources and programs are offered to these individuals, allowing them to regain their lives and become self-reliant. 

Community Action’s Fresh Start Program is built around five components that help prepare high school graduates to be well-rounded adults, including academics, construction, employability, life skills, and leadership development. These initiatives expose youth to various areas of life and prepare them for the world beyond graduation. 

DeeDee utilized support from the Twin Oaks Shelter for the homeless after living in her vehicle and attended Community Action’s workshops. The Rent Smart series allowed her to secure her own apartment and use the new skills that she had gained. 

County Prestress, through the Sonnentag Foundation, supports dozens of worthy organizations and causes in four services areas, including Hunger and Homelessness Support, Military Personnel and Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse and Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring and Skills Building.
