Maximize Energy Efficiency with Insulated Wall Panels

Written by Admin | Jun 3, 2024

Insulated wall panels manufactured by County Prestress & Precast are a high-performance material choice for large-scale projects. Made from two layers of prestressed concrete surrounding a layer of insulation, they offer buildings substantial energy and cost savings over a prolonged service life.

Achieve Specified R-value

R-values are the measure of a material’s capacity to resist heat flow. Insulated wall panels have a high R-value, meaning they slow the passage of outdoor heat into a building during the summer, and help prevent indoor heat from escaping to the outdoors in the winter. The R-value of our insulated wall panels can be adjusted to accommodate the needs of a particular project in order to maximize energy and cost efficiency.

Insulated wall panels are capable of edge-to-edge insulation, a technique made possible by using non-metal connectors. This feature allows for consistent insulation throughout each panel, improving R-values and preventing gaps in insulation that act as weak points in the building envelope where heat can pass more easily.

Indoor Temperature Regulation

The energy efficiency of prestressed concrete wall panels contributes to more comfortable temperatures within a building. In hot climates, the high thermal mass, high density, and low conductivity of a concrete structure allows for a large amount of heat to be absorbed without a significant change in the interior temperature. During the day, heat is stored in the building’s surface concrete, and at night, heat is released back into the atmosphere. This advantage can lead to lower operating costs by decreasing the energy usage of cooling systems, especially during peak hours.
