Supporting Domestic Abuse Survivors Through YWCA of Rock County

Written by Admin | Nov 7, 2024

The YWCA of Rock County is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The organization’s mission is accomplished through five key programs: Child Care, Alternatives to Violence, Transitions, CARE House, and Racial Justice and Immigrant Outreach. These services work toward YWCA’s vision of transforming lives and communities through education and action.

One of the programs supported by County Prestress & Precast through the YWCA is the Rock County Alternatives to Violence Program, which offers a 33-bed shelter and essential resources for domestic violence survivors in the Janesville, Wisconsin, area. The shelter provides food, clothing, and personal care items free of charge. Additionally, it offers legal advocacy, safety planning, case management, support groups, and services for youth.

County Prestress & Precast partners with the YWCA and other organizations that support families in our local communities through the Sonnentag American Foundation. The Foundation provides support in four key service areas: Hunger & Homelessness Support, Service Member & Veteran Support, Sexual Abuse & Domestic Assault Services, and Mentoring & Skills Building.
