When Subaru of Indiana Automotive needed to increase the material storage space for the company’s expansive manufacturing plant in Lafayette, Indiana, they turned to County Prestress & Precast's Insulated Wall Panels as a practical, cost-effective building solution.
The plant, Subaru's manufacturing headquarters for North America, currently produces the Ascent, Impreza, Legacy and Outback models. Architects JRA Architecture and general contractor Compass Commercial Construction Group chose County Prestress & Precast's Insulated Wall Panels for the new storage facility because of the thermal value they provide, as well as their functionality.
Insulated wall panels are a structural, load bearing, thermal insulated building envelope system that's economical and efficient to install. Made of high-quality prestressed concrete, they're ideal for large-scale projects such as the Subaru facility. The erector, Sealed Rite Inc., constructed the storage facility in 14 days, using 274 prestress wall panels. That's an average of 19 panels per day, on a job site an hour away from County Prestress & Precast's Whitestown, Indiana, plant.
Maintaining panel counts on site was a challenge. Construction on the nearby interstate hindered their timely delivery. However, County Prestress & Precast overcame the challenge with support from our experienced dispatchers and truck drivers. Ultimately, County Prestress & Precast maintained a solid schedule and provided a quality product to Subaru of Indiana Automotive.
