The Ellison Lake Nona project is a 377-unit, market-rate, multifamily development in Orlando, Fla., that includes a mix of 4-story and 2-story residential buildings. Once complete, the community will include a luxury resort-style pool, a clubhouse with working, fitness, and yoga spaces, a game room, and leasing offices.
Project leaders specified precast concrete elevator and stair shafts manufactured by County Prestress & Precast to accelerate the construction schedule for this project. Precast shafts are manufactured in a controlled environment with rigorous quality control measures and delivered to the jobsite ready to install with a crane. Since shaft production can occur at the same time as the site is being prepared, using precast shafts can shave weeks from the construction timeline.
By minimizing the need for scaffolding and cast-in-place formwork, these precast construction components improve jobsite safety. Installation is much less susceptible to weather delays than other shaft construction methods, which can further accelerate the construction schedule.
