County Prestress & Precast Recognized at the 2022 PCI Design Awards

Written by Admin | Apr 1, 2022

County Prestress & Precast received national recognition at the 2022 PCI Convention for supplying the Eisenhower Bridge of Valor, an award-winning bridge constructed in Red Wing, Minnesota. The structure won Best Bridge with a Main Span Between 76-200 Feet in the 2022 PCI Design Awards. Established nearly 60 years ago, the PCI Design Awards program recognizes design excellence and construction quality using precast, prestressed concrete.

Our Prestress Production Team in Janesville, Wisconsin manufactured 28 prestressed concrete girders for the Eisenhower Bridge of Valor replacement project. Each girder measures 174 feet-long, 82 inches-tall, and weighs 202,000 pounds. At the time of production, the prestress girders were the largest in Wisconsin. The Minnesota Department of Transportation specified prestressed concrete for its long-lasting strength and low life cycle cost. The Eisenhower Bridge of Valor reopened to traffic in 2019.

County Prestress & Precast congratulates the producers, engineers, and contractors who earned PCI Design Awards at this year’s program. See all award-winning projects.
