Versatile Aesthetics
The East Main Street Underpass on the edge of the downtown district of Galesburg, Illinois, was slated for replacement. County Prestress & Precast used custom forms to manufacture 12 precast pier caps and six prestressed fascia girders. Inspired by the community’s historic charm, the pier caps were cast with a natural stone texture and the center girder features the message “Welcome to Galesburg.”

High-performing concrete girders are engineered to withstand heavy use over a long service life. The Minnesota Department of Transportation and regional partners decided to replace a flood-prone causeway near the Minnesota river with a 24-foot-tall bridge. County Prestress & Precast's bridge girders were an ideal solution for the superstructure of the 4,226 foot-long bridge.
